LEAD BARTENDER

Blue Door is an intimate cocktail bar and social lounge coming to the vibrant South End area in late summer of 2024. Brought to you by the team behind Trio.

RESPONSIBILITIES

CRAFT COCKTAILS: Oversee preparation of menu cocktails to exact specifications, ensuring consistency and quality in every drink.

HOSPITALITY LEADER: Serve as the beacon of hospitality, consistently providing exceptional service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all guests and team members.

INCLUSIVITY: Ensure all guests are treated with the same high level of respect and hospitality, fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment.

TEAM COLLABORATION: Work closely with other team members to maintain a smooth and efficient operation, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.

MENU KNOWLEDGE: Maintain a thorough understanding of our drink menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation standards.

FUTURE DEVELOPMENT: Participate in future menu development, contributing creative ideas and feedback for new cocktails.

CLEANLINESS: Maintain a clean and organized bar area, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.

CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT: Engage with guests to understand their preferences, provide personalized recommendations, and enhance their overall experience. 

ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION: Monitor alcohol consumption, intervene when necessary and create an environment that promotes responsible enjoyment.

OPENING AND CLOSING DUTIES: Occasionally manage  the opening and closing of the bar, including setting up before service and ensuring all closing tasks are completed efficiently.

CASH HANDLING AND RECONCILIATION: Handle closing cash out duties, ensuring accurate accounting of sales and secure handling of all cash and card transactions.

INVENTORY MANAGEMENT: Oversee and assist with maintaining a consistent and accurate bar inventory. Assist with alcohol delivery and storage.

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT: Train and mentor bar staff, sharing your extensive knowledge of craft cocktails and service standards to ensure a high level of performance and consistency.

QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE: Previous bartending experience in a leadership position in a craft cocktail bar or similar environment is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE: Strong knowledge of mixology, including classic and contemporary cocktails, spirits, and ingredients.

SKILLS: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for hospitality.

CREATIVITY: Ability to contribute to the development of new cocktails and bring fresh ideas to our menu.

ATTENTION TO DETAIL: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure every drink meets our high standards.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: Seeking bartenders who are enthusiastic about participating in competitions and seminars to continually increase their knowledge and skills.

FLEXIBILITY: Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

CERTIFICATION: Bar Smarts certified preferred. Must be of legal age to serve alcohol and hold any necessary certifications (e.g., TIPS, ServSafe).
